Greg's Story
"Injury doesn't have to stop progress."
Greg came to Peak Human Performance shortly after being medically cleared to train following surgery to repair a complete rupture of his right biceps tendon. The injury had occurred while punching a heavy bag at an unfortunate angle.
His goals were ambitious:
Rehabilitate his arm, lose as much body fat as possible and build lean muscleβall within six weeks.
From day one, Greg brought an incredible work ethic. He approached every session with determination and never looked for excuses.
Rather than waiting for his arm to fully recover before training, we designed the programme around what he could do.
We initially focused on lower-body strength and conditioning while progressively rehabilitating his upper body. As his recovery advanced, we carefully reintroduced pulling movements, with one major milestone in mind:
Returning to pain-free chin-ups.
Within just six weeks, Greg progressed from being unable to fully bend his arm without pain to performing full chin-ups.
At the same time, his body composition improved dramatically.
Greg achieved:
- 3.8 kg of body weight lost
- 6.1% reduction in body fat
- Full, pain-free return to chin-ups
- A stronger and more muscular physique despite recovering from surgery
To maximise the limited time available, we also incorporated a carefully planned nutrition strategy, including a short period of supervised water fasting. During that phase, Greg lost more than 7 kg, before naturally regaining part of the initial weight as nutrition normalised. The overall strategy helped accelerate his body composition goals while allowing us to continue building toward long-term performance.
Perhaps the most impressive part of Greg's journey wasn't the numbers.
It was his mindset.
He never allowed an injury to define his limits.
Instead, he trusted the process, stayed disciplined and proved that the right programme can simultaneously restore function, rebuild strength and transform body composition.
At Peak Human Performance, we don't stop training because of an injury. We identify what can be trained, rebuild what has been lost and help our clients come back stronger than before.
