Yah Wen's Story

"The greatest transformation isn't measured in weeks. It's measured in years."

Yah Wen is a software engineer, a father of four and a fellow Poliquin-trained coach with a genuine passion for learning and helping others.

He is also my most dedicated online client and student.

For more than two years, we've worked together remotely, proving that exceptional coaching doesn't require sharing the same gymβ€”it requires commitment, communication and consistency.

From the very beginning, Yah Wen embraced the philosophy of continuous improvement.

Rather than chasing quick transformations, he focused on building habits that would last a lifetime. Session after session, month after month, he committed to becoming a little stronger, a little healthier and a little better than the day before.

The results have been remarkable.

Over the past two years, Yah Wen has:

  • Built a significant amount of lean muscle mass
  • Developed exceptional strength
  • Improved his recovery and overall health
  • Created a sustainable lifestyle centred around long-term performance

But what inspires me most isn't his physique.

It's his mindset.

Charles Poliquin once challenged the idea that success is simply a matter of discipline. He argued that when you genuinely value something, the behaviours that support it stop feeling like a sacrifice and become part of who you are.

Yah Wen often laughs and says,

"I have zero discipline."

And in many ways, he's right.

He doesn't wake up every day forcing himself to train.

He trains because he loves being healthy. He loves becoming stronger. He loves taking care of himself so he can be a better father, husband, coach and professional.

That passion has turned training, nutrition and recovery into habits rather than obligations.

Despite leading a demanding career, raising four children, leading his own business (Holiaofitness) and continuing to study and teach, he has shown that health doesn't have to compete with family or workβ€”it can strengthen both.

Yah Wen's journey is proof that long-term success isn't built on discipline alone. It's built on self-respect, purpose and the daily choice to invest in your future self.

At Peak Human Performance, we don't want clients who rely on motivation. We help people build a lifestyle they genuinely enjoyβ€”because when you love who you're becoming, consistency becomes effortless.
